Engineering, Technical & Life-Cycle Logistics

U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), Aviation Logistics Center (ALC), Engineering Support Division (ESD) Aviation Technical Support Services - CDS2 provides professional engineering and technical services to the USCG Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) / Engineering Support Division (ESD).  Programs supported by CDS2 include:  Aging Aircraft; Aircraft Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM); Aircraft Structural Integrity Program (ASIP); Airworthiness Assurance and Certification Processes; Aircraft TEMPEST/Communications Security (COMSEC); Tech Data Publication and Configuration Control; and Aircraft Component Manufacturing Program.

Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM), Mine Resistant Ambush Program (MRAP) - CDS2 provides technical support to the MRAP Joint Program Office (JPO) providing engineering expertise to the government in technology development and insertion, systems engineering, and rapid acquisition development and modification.  Specific technical areas of expertise include:  survivability, occupant protection and restraints, human factors engineering, and automotive, mechanical and materials engineering.

Office of Naval Research (ONR) -  CDS2 supports ONR's continued technological superiority of U.S. Naval Forces with mission-relevant, affordable new capabilities that create and exploit scientific breakthroughs, respond to fleet requirements and support strategic U.S. industries.  This contract allows CDS2 to support ONR Headquarters and 16 Field Offices world-wide with technical, programmatic and engineering support services; business and finance support services; conference/event and administrative, training/workshop support services; Information Technology support, and Navy/DoD education programs and initiatives support.

Space & Naval Warfare (SPAWAR) - CDS2 procured and delivered a total of 110 ruggedized Sun Servers Model V240.  All ruggedized servers required hardening and ruggedization to meet MIL-STD 901D Grade B specifications.  Deliveries were made incrementally to SPAWAR in support of the Integrated Shipboard Rugged C4ISR Rack Systems for the Navy's Global Command and Control - Maritime System (GCCS-M) and Navy's Integrated Shipboard Network System (ISNS).  GCCS-M is the Navy's core afloat C4ISR System and ISNS in the Navy's shipboard backbone network system.

Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) - CDS2 has been awarded a consulting agreement to provide programming support of the Ordnance Programs Optimization Model (OPOM).  OPOM is a web based application created for NAVAIR.  The OPOM application’s primary function is to determine weapons system budgeting requirements identifying system cost requirements in the categories of Maintenance, Weapon Systems Support, and Quality Evaluation, down to the task and sub-task level. Entries in each category are validated, and then used to create a budget model providing information on 100% of requirements. Using this model subsequent models can be produced which are constrained by cost or readiness.

NASA Aviation Safety Program, Aging Aircraft and Durability (AAD) - CDS2 staff are supporting NASA AAD researchers in developing, validating and implementing Technology Transition Plans that facilitate the development, transfer and adoption of aging aircraft technologies from the laboratory to the OEM, Operator and/or Regulatory Agency end-user environments.  By leveraging CDS2’ expertise in the research, regulatory and operational aviation environments NASA anticipates that it will further enhance its contributions to the solution of critical aging aircraft issues through the focused development and application of new technologies for fixed, rotary wing and propulsion platforms.
